Southern Retreat

"I shot an arrow into the air. It fell to earth I know not where." - -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow confessing to a sad ignorance of ballistics.

Welcome to the "Southern Retreat". From the South comes many great things, one of the greatest is the "Southern Hospitality" we are famous for. When I first thought of creating a web page for the South, I was overwhelmed at the information out there for the viewing. If you have never done a search for "confederacy", you should try it sometime. If you can think of it, then rest assured it is probably covered out there.

But still, I thought to myself, I could not let this opportunity go by without showing that myself and family are...

Grace of God

And we stand proud to be Southern. The way I look at it, "Love It, or Leave It"! And don't be mistaken, there is no grey area there.

I learn more everyday about the South, and I have been living here for 42 years! So maybe you will find some bit of information here that you too can say "Gee, I didn't know that". Or maybe you can be the one to e-mail me and correct something. After all, as I said, "I'm still learning".

So take a load off your weary feet, stranger. I'd love to give you a short tour of the South. And perhaps you'll get an idea of what "Southern Hospitality" is all about. How about a visit of the "old South" and we'll throw in some of the "New South" just to please everyone. I thought you might like that! C'mon stranger....
